Plant Valencia onion seeds in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked, or start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last expected frost date in your area. Amend the soil with organic matter such as compost to improve fertility and drainage. Prefers full sun and requires consistent moisture. Mulch at base.
Harvest & Storage:
After curing, trim the tops and roots of the onions and store them in a cool, dry place with good air circulation. Properly cured Valencia onions can be stored for several months.
