Valencia onions are believed to have originated in Spain, particularly in the region of Valencia, from which they derive their name. They are known for their mild and sweet flavor, making them popular for fresh consumption in salads and sandwiches.

Plant Valencia onion seeds in early spring, as soon as the soil can be worked, or start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last expected frost date in your area. Amend the soil with organic matter such as compost to improve fertility and drainage. Prefers full sun and requires consistent moisture. Mulch at base.

Harvest & Storage:

After curing, trim the tops and roots of the onions and store them in a cool, dry place with good air circulation. Properly cured Valencia onions can be stored for several months.
